Apply now to be a presenter in a new online creative workshop series!
Hastings artists are encouraged to submit an expression of interest to be a presenter in a series of online creative workshops. The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce is facilitating the program, through its subcommittee Creative Wauchope, to achieve ongoing outcomes for local artists and the wider community.
The program seeks to raise the profile and build a wider audience for local artists and develop skills and tools for continued growth of the local creative industries.
Hastings Artists are asked to submit an overview of their proposed online workshop by Monday 13th July 2020. The series concept is for ten different online hourly workshops which will be recorded for future viewing via the Creative Wauchope website and as a promotional tool for the artist.
The program is supported by Bush fire Recovery Funding allocated through Port Macquarie Hastings Council.
Activity Packs & Workshop Information:
It is strongly encouraged that each workshop has an accompanying activity pack, materials or access to tools, instruments, etc that can continue to be a source of income for artists in the future. The funding will provide for $15 per pack x 10 packs, per workshop for the initial workshops. Activity packs can continue to be sold via the Creative Wauchope website with a link to the workshop session.
Each workshop can be single or multiple sessions to allow participants to complete the activity and to encourage a relationship between artists and participants, fostering the likelihood of future engagement. Each workshop presenter will be paid $500 no matter whether it is single or multiple session.
Skills Development & Promotion:
Selected artists will be provided with several training sessions to prepare for the recorded workshop and to build their skills to further advertise themselves.
Each Artist will be asked to provide their Artist Profile and workshop overview in their application, and selected applicants will also be asked to provide additional materials and or information for the promotion of the workshop series.
The workshops will be held in the weeks before and after the first week in October at an agreed time between artists and Wauchope Chamber as the facilitator. This timing will permit the co-promotion of the Hastings Creative Workshop Series and Art Walk 2020 program bring greater exposure to the Workshop Series and boosting the shared objectives of raising the community awareness of the creative industries in the region.
